Eizo MonitorTest is a lightweight and portable application that you can use to run tests on your monitor and calibrate it accordingly. It supplies users with 24 different benchmarks that can be easily run. Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can just save the executable file somewhere on the HDD and run it directly. Otherwise, it is possible to move Eizo MonitorTest to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to test the monitor on any machine with minimum effort, which particularly comes in handy when you're administering multiple workstations. An important aspect to take into account is that the Windows Registry does not get new entries, and files are not left behind on the disk after removing the application. Once the tool is initialized, you can select the UI language and view information on the current resolution, color depth, total number of pixels, screen aspect ratio, and display frequency. Eizo MonitorTest is able to perform automatic adjustment, basic colors, Moaré, geometry, RGB, convergence, speed, and sharpness tests, and you can filter them. So, all you have to do is make some observations according to the program's instructions and, occasionally tweak some color settings to get results. The tool has a good response time and works well, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. It also uses low CPU and RAM, so it is not a concern to the overall performance or the system. We haven't come across any issues throughout our evaluation. Although it has not been updated for a long time, Eizo MonitorTest works well on newer operating systems.
